Animated Text in Toji Motion: Titles That Move With the Beat

Text is a layer like any other in Toji Motion, which means it can hit, drift, scatter and settle. This guide animates titles and lyrics that land on the music.

Text Is a Layer, Treat It Like One

Every title in Toji Motion starts as a text layer with the same rights as a video layer: keyframes, effects, blending and curves. That is what makes its titles feel designed rather than stamped. The basics of the app, covered on the the Toji Motion download page, apply unchanged: set the layer's timing first, then animate inside that timing.

Write the line before animating it. Short lines animate well; a title that needs three lines needs a sequence, not a shrink.

Animating to the Beat

For lyric and title hits, the waveform is the script. Place the text layer's keyframes so the final, readable state lands exactly on the beat, and let the entrance happen in the frames before it. The keyframes guide covers the counting method, and per-character animation rewards it most: stagger each letter's entrance by a frame or two and the line arrives like a wave instead of a block.

Exits deserve the same care. A title that snaps off mid-word reads as a mistake, while one that fades or drops on the next beat reads as style.

Style: Glow, Stroke and Shadow

Readability rules text effects. A soft glow lifts a title off a busy clip, a stroke survives bright footage, and a shadow grounds light backgrounds. The compositing tools in the blending modes guide explain how text sits into a scene instead of on top of it, which is the difference between a caption and a title.

Save a finished title style as a preset. Intros and series titles repeat, and a saved style keeps every episode consistent.

Checking Text in the Export

Text is where exports lie: thin strokes and small letters that looked fine in preview can crumble at feed compression. Export the title section alone first, at the settings in the export settings guide, and watch it on the phone at arm's length. If a letter cannot be read there, it cannot be read in a feed. Get the app from the download page when you are ready to build your own titles.

Quick Answers

Can text animate per character in Toji Motion?

Yes. Text layers support per-character animation, so letters can enter staggered, scattered or in sequence.

Why is my title hard to read?

Usually contrast, not size. Add a stroke, a shadow or a soft glow, and check the exported file on the phone, not only the preview.

How do I keep titles consistent across videos?

Save the finished title as a preset and apply it to each new project, adjusting only the words.
